In my last post, we discussed why undigested food causes illness. Today, we are focusing on how to fix it.
I have developed a 7-day protocol designed to do two things:
Maximize Digestion: Break down food before it rots.
Inoculate the Gut: Introduce beneficial bacteria at the exact right moment to heal the lining.
This plan uses the concept of "Stacking." We stack specific raw foods with cooked meals to aid digestion, and we use the time between meals to "inoculate" your microbiome.
The "Anti-Rot" Daily Clock
8:00 AM: Breakfast + Papaya (Digestion)
11:00 AM: Kefir Snack (Inoculation Window)
1:00 PM: Lunch + Raw Ginger (Digestion)
4:00 PM: Miso Soup (Inoculation Window)
7:00 PM: Dinner + Avocado (Digestion)

The Strategy: Timing is Everything
Rule 1: With Meals (The Pre-Strike) Eat high-enzyme raw foods first or with your meal. This primes the stomach with protease, amylase, and lipase before the heavy cooked food arrives.
Rule 2: Between Meals (The Inoculation) Consume fermented foods 3 hours after a meal. This utilizes the Migrating Motor Complex (MMC)—your gut’s self-cleaning wave. When the stomach is empty, probiotics (from kefir or sauerkraut) can survive the journey to the colon and crowd out the bad bacteria.
Your 7-Day Gut Reset Plan
Day 1: The Tropical Protein Reset
Breakfast: Oatmeal with raw chopped papaya (contains Papain to digest protein/gluten).
Mid-Morning Snack (Inoculate): 1 cup Kefir (plain).
Lunch: Grilled chicken salad topped with raw pineapple slices (contains Bromelain to digest the chicken).
Afternoon Snack (Inoculate): A small bowl of Miso soup (warm, not boiling).
Dinner: Salmon with steamed asparagus and a side of avocado (contains Lipase for fats).
Day 2: The Starch Breaker
Breakfast: Greek yogurt with raw honey and banana (contains Amylase).
Mid-Morning Snack: Kombucha (low sugar).
Lunch: Rice bowl with veggies and a side of raw mango.
Afternoon Snack: Raw Sauerkraut (2 tbsp) eaten straight.
Dinner: Lean steak with kiwi fruit salsa (Actinidain in kiwi is a powerful meat digester).
Day 3: The Fat Metabolizer
Breakfast: Smoothie with spinach, protein powder, and avocado.
Mid-Morning Snack: Coconut Kefir.
Lunch: Turkey wrap. Eat a slice of fresh ginger or drink ginger tea with the meal.
Afternoon Snack: Kimchi.
Dinner: Baked white fish with mango salsa.
Day 4: The Fermentation Flush
Breakfast: Poached eggs with a side of raw sauerkraut.
Mid-Morning Snack: Raw sprouted almonds.
Lunch: Quinoa salad with lemon dressing and raw apricot.
Afternoon Snack: Kefir smoothie.
Dinner: Pork chops marinated in fresh pineapple juice.
Day 5: The Fiber Sweep
Breakfast: Chia seed pudding with raw almond milk and figs.
Mid-Morning Snack: Pickle juice shot (fermented brine).
Lunch: Sushi or Sashimi. Eat the pickled ginger provided.
Afternoon Snack: Plain Yogurt with flaxseeds.
Dinner: Stir-fry with bean sprouts (dense with metabolic enzymes).
Day 6: The Enzymatic Rest
Breakfast: Papaya boat filled with yogurt.
Mid-Morning Snack: Green apple (pectin acts as a prebiotic broom).
Lunch: Lentil soup. Stir in a spoonful of raw Miso paste just before eating.
Afternoon Snack: Tempeh strips.
Dinner: Roast chicken. Dessert is fresh pineapple.
Day 7: The Microbiome Maintenance
Breakfast: Smoothie bowl with bee pollen and banana.
Mid-Morning Snack: Beet Kvass or beet juice.
Lunch: Heavy sandwich. Eat kiwi slices immediately after.
Afternoon Snack: Kefir.
Dinner: Large salad with raw apple cider vinegar dressing (must contain "the mother").
The Shopping Checklist
Produce: Pineapple, Papaya, Mango, Kiwi, Avocado, Ginger.
Refrigerated/Fermented: Raw Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Miso, Kefir.
Pantry: Raw Honey, ACV, Sprouted Almonds.

Crucial Shopping Tips
The "Warm" Rule: Never microwave your enzyme foods (Pineapple, Miso, Raw Honey). Heat above 118°F destroys the enzymes.
The "Cold" Rule: For fermented foods (Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Pickles), do not buy them from the center aisles. Those have been pasteurized (heated). You must buy them from the refrigerated section to get the live benefits.
Need Extra Help?
If sourcing these specific foods is difficult, or if you want to ensure you are getting the clinical dosage of enzymes and probiotics daily, I recommend supplementing this diet with the Thorne Gut Health Protocol.
Bio-Gest: Essential for those over 40 to replace declining stomach acid.
FloraMend: To ensure inoculation happens even if you miss your fermented snack.
